Mood Board
A mood board is an arrangement of images, textures, and materials meant to communicate mood and style of a project. To the right you can see Cori's mood board for her Beetles and Butterflies collection. Included are 3D cut outs of butterflies, pictures of jewel beetle wing casings, interesting textures, and a cohesive color palette meant to evoke whimsical emotion.

Image Research
|
Cori researched different styles of embroidery as well as kinds of transformation dresses in order to better visualize what she wanted her collection to look like. To the left is her compilation of images she felt best represented what she wanted her embroidery to look like, and she based her initial designs off of this research.

Sketches

Flats
Flats are line drawings of the silhouette, style lines, seam lines, closures, and any technical details found on a garment. Flats are used to adequately communicate construction details of a garment from the designer to the seamstress. Flats are meant to be easily understood and do not typically include color or pattern. Below is a slideshow of flats created to help cement Cori's design for construction of her dresses.
Renderings
|
Renderings are final drawings or paintings of what the finished garment will look like. To the left are Cori's renderings of her post-transformation dresses, which are in gouache, ink, and colored pencil.
